Hybrid Fitting

A hybrid sits in an awkward weight gap between your irons and your fairway woods — and if that gap is filled carelessly, the club can feel like a stranger in the bag no matter how well the loft and lie are dialed in.

Closing the Long-Iron Gap

Weight Is Where Most Hybrid Fittings Stop Short

Hybrids exist to replace long irons that got too hard to hit consistently, but a hybrid built to a weight class that doesn't match your iron shafts can reintroduce the exact timing problem it was meant to solve. We treat the hybrid as a bridge point on your weight ladder, not an isolated purchase.

That means checking where your iron set's weight progression is heading and choosing a hybrid shaft that continues it smoothly, rather than picking whatever weight class the head manufacturer bundles by default.

What We Check

Bridging Two Weight Classes on Purpose

Ladder Position

We identify exactly where the hybrid sits between your longest iron and shortest fairway wood on the weight chart, then build to that number.

Launch Behavior

Launch angle and spin are recorded across a few candidate weight classes, since the "right" weight also has to launch the ball the way you need it to.

Set Makeup

We revisit your gapping chart while fitting the hybrid, confirming it fills the yardage window it's meant to without duplicating a club you already carry.

Fill the Gap With the Right Weight

Sessions run 45–60 minutes and include a comparison against your current iron and fairway wood shaft weights.
